Contact us using the SignVideo interpreting service

If you can't find the answer to your question on this site – or if you want to contact us for any other reason – then there are lots of ways you can get in touch quickly and easily, including the SignVideo interpreting service.


If you use British Sign Language (BSL) and you’re a BT customer, you can get in touch with us using BSL and a webcam. To see how, follow the steps below – or watch our video How to use BSL when contacting BT.

This free service is compatible with Windows and Mac OS.

How to contact BT using SignVideo

Step 1: Click on the SignVideo BSL Live link. If this is your first time, you’ll need to download LiveVideo Plugin. This is to make sure that you’ll get good video quality and that your calls are secure. Just follow the instructions on the screen.

Step 2: You’ll be connected to a SignVideo interpreter. Tell them you’re calling BT.

Step 3: You’ll then be connected to one of our customer service advisors.

What you need

To use SignVideo, you’ll need to make sure you meet these minimum requirements:

  • A computer or device with a webcam (built-in or connected). BSL Live works with iOS (iPad and iPhone) and Android version 4.2 or above (tablets and smartphones)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 or above, Firefox and windows 10 (not windows edge) for Mac it is safari
  • bandwidth of at least 256 kbp/s upload and download (384kbp/s recommended).

You can use the SignVideo service Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
