Lime Micro Hackathon

BT has teamed up with Lime Microsystems, Ubuntu, Quortus, Amarisoft, eurecom, sysmocom, Facebook, EIT Digital and TechHub to find small companies and academic institutions who understand the power of Software Definable Radio to completely change the landscape of communications. 

Securing the Nation

BT, TechHub and the Cabinet Office have announced the winners of their Securing the Nation competition at an event at the iconic BT Tower. The competition's aim was to find innovative small and medium enterprises (SMEs) who can create solutions to help consumers and businesses stay safe online.

BT Consumer Innovation Challenge

Triby, a voice-controlled smart device was selected as the winner of the BT Consumer competition. The device gives users access to a range of telephony, IoT and web services. 

Future Mobile 

SafeToNet, a behavioural analytics company that defends the vulnerable on social networks from cyber-bullying, trolling and predatory risk has scooped first prize in the BT Infinity Lab 'mobile innovation' competition. 

Connected Cities

BT teamed up with Milton Keynes and TechHub to find the UK's most innovative digital small businesses. 

BT Sport competition

Seenit, based in London, were named winners of the 7th BT Infinity Lab competition after impressing judges with their app which allows viewers to upload their reactions to live TV coverage of sport.

BT Future Comms Hackathon

The weekend of 26-27 September, 2015, England played an important game against Wales for the Rugby World Cup (RWC) competition, which England was hosting this year. The game wasn’t the only competition going on. BT and Alcatel-Lucent also co-organized the “I came, I saw, I hacked” external hackathon. 

Digital First Competition

OpenBack has been named as the winner of the BT Infinity Lab ‘Digital First’ competition, run in conjunction with entrepreneur community TechHub and the GREAT Britain campaign.

UKBAA Summit

BT has played host to one of the biggest events in the innovation and start-up calendar - the UKBAA (UK Business Angels Association) Investment Summit

The UK BAA is the national trade association representing angel and early stage investment in the UK.

SME Award

Smart healthcare app babylon has been named winner of the BT Infinity Lab SME Award: Digital Innovation for the Public Sector for the Public Sector, as person-centred education workflow company Educator and social jobs site Fluency took the runners-up spots.

Customer Service Competition

Smart customer query resolution system CogniCor, and PixelPin, a revolutionary web security and authentication tool, have been named winners of the latest BT Infinity Lab competition. The two companies have been recognised as outstanding innovators in the world of customer service.

Connected Society Competition

An app that uses symbols, photos and sign language to help with language development and build communication skills has been chosen as the overall winners in the third BT Infinity Lab competition. MyChoicePad from Insane Logic, was chosen by a panel of BT executives and invited entrepreneurs.

Business Growth Competition

Irish start-up, Sedicii, pitched their brainchild to a panel of BT and TechHub experts after being shortlisted for the BT Infinity Labs competition asking for innovative apps or services which would help small businesses thrive.

Boris opens the Lab

London mayor Boris Johnson has officially opened the BT Infinity Lab space at the TechHub in Old Street. During a major media event where he outlined his vision to make London a world leader in technology and unveiled plans for the first ever London Technology Week, the mayor took time to pay a visit to BT’s new technology showcase.

Consumer & Home competition

Start–up firms Xooloo Labs and Utelly have been announced as joint winners of the first competition in the BT Infinity Lab programme. The programme, established by BT and entrepreneur community TechHub, encourages technology start-ups to develop new apps or services that make the most of superfast broadband.

We launch!

BT is giving technology start-ups a much needed boost with the chance to create new apps and services for the fibre broadband market. The company has teamed up with TechHub - which creates spaces around the world where tech entrepreneurs can meet, work, learn and collaborate - to launch the BT Infinity Lab programme.
