Business Management 

Business Administrator Level 3

Our Apprentice Business Administrators are responsible for supporting and engaging with different parts of our organisation and interacting with internal or external customers.

Working alongside experienced colleagues you’ll learn how the Business Administrator role requires a focus on adding value. You’ll be involved in projects that contribute to the efficiency of BT through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues. You’ll be trained to deliver your responsibilities with efficiency, integrity and with a positive attitude.

You’ll need to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and you’ll bring a proactive approach to the process of your own skills development. You’ll also be expected to show initiative, manage priorities and your own time, demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your people management skills and will eventually coach or mentor colleagues.

Training & support

Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as the use of multiple IT packages and systems, training in how to produceaccurate records and documents such as emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals, document and record production and project management skills.

Entry requirements

To join our Business Administrator Level 3 programme you’ll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) 4 GCSE’s at grades 4 – 9 (GCSE C or above), including English Language and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted.

Chartered Manager Degree Level 6

As a Chartered Manager in BT you’ll learn how to take responsibility for people, projects, operations and / or services to deliver long term organisational success. You’ll gain professional recognition of your ability to deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate your commitment to continual learning and development.

You’ll be trained to manage complexity and deliver impact at a strategic and / or operational level. You’ll take management and leadership responsibility for setting and delivering organisational objectives through a wide range of functions. The role will include all aspects of management and leadership skills, knowledge, self-awareness and behaviours.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills including strategic decision making, setting direction and achieving results, building and leading teams, clear communication, developing skills and motivating others, fostering inclusive and ethical cultures, leading change, project management, financial management, innovation, risk management and developing stakeholder relationships.

Training & support

Throughout the course of your training you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as operational strategy, project management, business finance, sales and marketing, digital business and new business, how to effectively lead and manage people, personal effectiveness and project management.

Entry requirements

To join our Chartered Manager Degree Level 6 programme you’ll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) three A-Levels with a minimum of BCC grades. You’ll also need to have a minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4 – 9 (GCSE C or above) including English and Maths. You’ll need to achieve these grades by September 2020. Equivalent qualifications are accepted.

Graduate Level Apprenticeship in IT for Business Level 10 (SQCF)

As an IT apprentice you will join a team which is responsible for managing access to BT's most secure systems and platforms. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the right people get the right access to the right information and for the right reasons.

You’ll help build and maintain the security systems and processes that protect BT from cyber threats and allow BT to manage systems both in its own data centres and in the cloud.

Training & support

Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as how to perform technical process improvement tasks, how to improve business process with optimised solutions and workflows, and how to evaluate the success of a new system, process or initiative.

You’ll also learn how to assess risks, costs vs benefits, and impact on other business processes and then recommend appropriate solutions to clients and how to support the training of end users in preparation for system activation.

Entry requirements

To join our Graduate Level Apprenticeship in IT for Business Level 10 (SQCF) programme you’ll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) A-Levels - Scottish Highers at Grade BBBB or equivalent. You’ll also need a minimum of four GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above) including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted.
