We run the biggest, fastest mobile network in the UK. We launched the UK’s first 4G mobile service in October 2012, and today EE's 4G coverage reaches more than 99 per cent of the UK population, equal to more than two thirds of the UK geography.
We have more than 550 retail stores, and serve more than 20 million customers.
We’re not just big – we’re also award-winning. In the past few years we’ve won a lot of network awards:
- Best Network at the 2014 and 2015 Mobile News Awards, 2014 What Mobile Awards and the 2014 and 2015 Mobile Choice Consumer Awards.
- Fastest Network (2014 and 2016 uSwitch Mobile Awards)
- Best Consumer Network (2015 and 2016 Mobile Industry Awards)
- Best Mobile Network (2014 Recombu Awards).
How we’re doing
For the year ending March 31st 2017, underlying revenue adjusted for the acquisition of EE was up 1%, or 3% excluding the £110m impact of regulation.
We continue to be recognised at the UK’s leading mobile network by RootMetrics, who crowned us the Best UK Network for the seventh consecutive time.
But we’re not stopping there. EE's 4G coverage today reaches more than 99 per cent of the UK population, equal to more than two thirds of the UK geography. EE plans to extend 4G to 95 per cent geographic coverage by 2020.
In February, we demonstrated 4G balloons and drone ‘air masts’, showing how the attached mini mobile sites can provide temporary wide area 4G coverage in a location where permanent sites have been damaged or there’s no 4G coverage, for example, music festivals and sporting events.
And we remain committed to improving customer experience. As of 2017, 100 per cent of all EE calls are handled in the UK and Ireland.
