Social Study 2015 - The Economic Impact of BT in the United Kingdom 
This report has been produced by Regeneris Consulting, an independent economics firm that provides research-based advice to major corporates, developers, national government bodies and local government. It shows BT’s economic contribution to the UK national economy and to regional economies in terms of jobs, output and Gross Value Added (GVA) supported. BT’s total impact across the UK amounts to £18 billion GVA – the report also includes a breakdown for each of the English regions, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The report covers several effects of BT’s activities:

Direct impact: people employed directly by BT (including contractor employees) who receive wages and salaries.
Indirect impact: income and employment created with suppliers as a result of BT’s spending on goods and services.
Induced impact: further income and employment generated as wages created directly and indirectly are spent within the economy.
