In this issue of In Touch you can read about another community in our region that has signed a Community Fibre Partnership and the progress of some of our BDUK programmes in the North East. There’s also news about BT Fleet in the region and how we are helping the NHS Foundation trust staff be more productive. BT also announced it is creating about 165 new apprenticeship and graduate jobs in the North East in its drive to equip young people with the skills and training needed to meet the challenges of a changing jobs market. And BT Local Business, Converged Communications have opened new offices in Gateshead and they too plan a recruitment drive and further expansion. The BT Sport Disability programmes was also launched at Newcastle United Foundation a three year programme to inspire disabled people through sport.
And as featured in the National News our Barefoot Computing programme has now reached one million children, including more than 40,000 in the North East, it’s a great project that helps primary school teachers get confident with teaching computer science.
