Clean sweep for EE in network performance awards
By Marc Allera, CEO, EE
EE is the UK's best mobile network – and the latest RootMetrics awards prove it.
RootMetrics is an independent mobile analytics firm and carries out the biggest, independent network testing in the UK. There are six test categories: Overall; Reliability; Speed; Data; Call; and Text. The performance awards for the UK's mobile networks are announced twice a year.
The latest results are for the first half of 2016. The results show that the EE network outperforms all competitors. We achieved a clean sweep of the national performance awards. That's 30 out of 30 awards at the UK-wide level and across the four nations – England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We also won the most awards at the metropolitan area level, winning 15 Overall RootScore Awards outright and sharing one award (Newcastle).
Nothing short of brilliant
We've now won the UK Overall RootScore Award outright six consecutive times. In RootMetrics words: "In short, EE's performance across our UK-wide testing was nothing short of brilliant."
The latest results, alongside our highly successful '50% faster network' campaign, helps give our network real credibility. It shows our investment in our network and our commitment to bring 4G to more places than ever before is really paying off.
We know how hard Three, Vodafone and O2 are working to close the gap, so we're pleased that this latest report confirms there's still clear water between us and our competitors.
