We offer a range of programmes across the broad spectrum of IT.
Software roles involve working to design, develop, implement, test and support software applications that help BT to run its networks and systems. This could include anything from working on web applications, apps for smart phones and tablets or on BT’s internal systems.
There is also a broad array of network roles. This could include opportunities to test our global networks whether that means new connections that we’re building, or on existing networks. It could also include working on the planning, installing and commissioning of new network elements.
The Cyber Security team are responsible for the end to end security of BT Networks ensuring that BT is protected from network threats, attacks and vulnerabilities As a Cyber Security apprentices you will contribute to the development and improvement of security processes and procedures, as well as supporting the technical leads for specific projects. You will gain an understanding of BT's security strategy and be able to develop vulnerability detection in line with emerging threats. There is a clearly defined career path in this department with strong opportunities for progression to senior technical level.
The TV & Digital Media roles will get you involved in the design, delivery and support of BT TV and all the associated systems that have to work together to provide a complete, end to end, TV service. You’ll also be working on the design, delivery and support of BT’s UK and Global Media Networks which carries content for customers such as BBC, ITV & Star TV. During your apprenticeship with BT TV & Content you will rotate around a number of teams ensuring you gain a full understanding of the broadcasting and IPTV technologies you study as part of your full degree, whilst giving you an opportunity to understand what is involved in providing the very best service to our customers.
Our Business and Public Sector team in Dundee offer great ICT programmes within their contact centre. Assisting our business customers with technical queries, you’ll deliver an excellent customer experience in an IT Helpdesk environment, so our customers won’t want to go anywhere else.
All roles in IT are best suited to those with problem solving abilities and an aptitude for understanding the needs of customers.
